Tesla Tower VJ by Ivan Slipčević
It was already clear back in 2016 that the Tesla Tower is the new star of the festival's unique location. This 30m (100 feet) tall replica of the historic Tesla Tower built on Long Island, New York, which was torn down 100 years ago, in July of 1917, proudly stands over INmusic festival and reminds us of the life work of the great Nikola Tesla. The inventor who ushered us into the modern age and whose visionary ideas changed the world to the core, left us in his legacy all the commodities of modern life – from everyday use of electricity, all the way to internet and wireless information transmission, including music and arts.
Without a doubt the greatest inventor of the 20th century, Tesla dedicated his life to creating a better, safer and more just world for everyone, and without his inventions music which occupies such an integral place in our day to day lives would have never reached our homes or developed and changed so rapidly and prolifically as it did in the last century. The Tesla Tower is a contemporary reminder of Nikola Tesla's unrealized life's work – providing free and limitless energy for the whole of mankind, and securing energy availability that would eliminate conflicts over energy resources and provide free transmission and availability of knowledge and information, in return creating the prerequisites for world peace. Contemporary music, as an art form that has shaped generations and articulated the challenges of contemporary life, is an integral part of humanist creativity which the Tesla Tower at INmusic celebrates.
