Kim Deal is the latest addition to the INmusic festival #17 line up!
American musician, founder and singer of The Breeders and former Pixies bassist, set to present her critically acclaimed debut studio album to the Croatian audience at INmusic festival #17!
Kim Deal is undoubtedly one of the most influential musicians of our time. As the bassist and co-vocalist of Pixies, the seminal alternative rock band, and leader of The Breeders whose album 'Last Splash' achieved considerable commercial success along with critical acclaim, Kim Deal's career is also marked by notable musical collaborations and projects, crowned by her first solo studio album which was a decade in the making. ‘Nobody Loves You More’ was released in November 2024 and consists of songs with interesting and individual histories in their own right – from songs conceptualized way back in 2000 to shortly after her last tour with the Pixies in 2011, to those inspired by friend weddings, unlikely seaside getaways and family retreats – from pandemic lockdowns, basement sessions, the passing of loved ones and private meditations on the concept of failure. The majority of the album was recorded with the late Steve Albini, a longtime collaborator and friend, at Electrical Audio in Chicago with a long list of renowned musician guests – The Breeders' Kelley Deal, Mando Diaz, Jim Macpherson and Britt Walford, Raymond McGinley (Teenage Fanclub), Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs), Fay Milton and Ayse Hassan (Savages), etc. ‘Nobody Loves You More’ reveals a brand new side of Kim Deal - simultaneously mellow and profoundly emotional, unwaveringly confident and at times unrecognizably rich, ultimately even cooler that we are used to expect from the indie icon.
Kim Deal joins the already impressive lineup along with previously announced performances by Kings of Leon, Massive Attack, Air, Fontaines D.C., Michael Kiwanuka, St. Vincent, Yard Act and Seun Kuti & Egypt 80! Three-day festival tickets for INmusic festival #17 are available via the official festival webshop for only 109 EUR (+ transaction fees), as well as seven-day camping tickets for 59 EUR (+ transaction fees).
